Company Profile

RWL Hardchrome and Engineering Pty Ltd, was established in 1970 by Richard William Lihou. Over the years the company has provided a variety of products and services for its customers from premises at 62-64 Industrial Avenue, Maryborough.

Initially Richard William Lihou produced products to suit the local population, such as mobile fuel tanks, trailers and hardware components. A large number and variety of chrome plated and other types of fishing lures were produced for the fishermen of the Wide Bay area and beyond.

The chrome plating facilities gradually expanded through decorative plating to the industrial hardchroming plant now established on site. As these changes were made, original product lines were phased out in favour of providing a service to the earthmoving, mining and general engineering industries by way of offering a repair and re-manufacturing facility for many components requiring precision surface engineering.

Current management of the company was taken over by Richard Wade Lihou, the founder’s son, in 1991.

The philosophy behind this expansion is to offer rapid turnaround times in a state-of-the-art facility as required by customers supporting the surface and underground mining industries, plus other critical component repairs as required.
Services currently available include, hardchrome plating, precision grinding, bronze plating, manufacturing of hydraulic rams, nickel plating, zinc plating, brush plating process, CNC and manual turning, honing and complete cylinder strip down, post bake oven facilities, repair and test facilities. Other processes are under consideration for future customer requirement.

This new facility enables complete flexibility for various components requiring reclamation. Please view our Quality Policy here.

Your enquiries for medium to heavy turning, boring, honing and grinding work in addition to our usual reclamation processes will be welcomed.
